The Chair of Mechanical Process Engineering is one of the best-known and most traditional chairs of mechanical process engineering. Research at the Institute of Mechanical Process Engineering and Mineral Processing focuses on current scientific issues, in particular mechanical separation technology and processing technology. Within the scope of processing lithium-ion batteries, the focus is on the disintegration of battery cells and modules as well as the enrichment of the contained components in corresponding concentrates for coating, housing, separator foil and conductor foil materials.
