The Chair of Handling and Assembly Technology of the Department of Machine Tools and Factory Management at the Technical University Berlin is operating in the batterie-production-branch since recent years. In these past research activities fundamental knowledge and user knowledge about the production of the electrode-separator-compound through a special research focus in the stacking process and their possible rationalization potential were gained. The institute analyzes the mutual interaction between the product and production process and optimizes the crucial target parameters. The skills in this field of research reach from planning, modelling and simulation to design, commissioning and verification of Lithium-ion-battery production processes. Apart from planning and evaluation skills in production processes, utilities, and material flow, the department also possess other core competences like the holistic and process-based factory organization and the flexible production automation. The scientific director is Prof. Dr-Ing. Franz Dietrich.
